She gained recognition as Miss Gay SF in 1993 and as the thirtieth elected Empress of SF in 1995. She has shared the spotlight with renowned figures like Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein, and Britney Spears.

As a passionate singer and dedicated fundraiser, Donna has received numerous accolades and awards for her contributions to the community, including honors from the AIDS Emergency Fund and the LGBT Pride Committee. She has actively served on several boards and committees, championing causes such as HIV/AIDS awareness and LGBTQ+ rights. Donna takes pride in producing annual shows like Songs of the Season, benefiting the AIDS Emergency Fund, and co-organizing the Gary Virginia & Donna Sachet’s Pride Brunch, which supports Positive Resource Center.
